How Foundation works
Four visits, two to three weeks.
You are involved exactly twice: once at the start to tell us about the shop, and once at the end to learn how it works.
-
We visit and take stock
An hour at your shop. What you sell, who buys it, what you already have online, what's broken. We photograph the storefront while we're there. No charge, no obligation.
-
You get a plan and a fixed price
A one-page summary of what we found and what we'd build. If it's a standard Foundation, it's $2,500 and you know that before you agree to anything.
-
We build it
Listing, site, email, payments, list. Every account created in your name with your email as the owner. We check in once mid-way so nothing surprises you.
-
We hand it over in person
We come back, sit down, and walk you through all of it — logins written down, questions answered, as long as it takes. Then you decide whether you want us maintaining it.
Questions
Things people ask.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Foundation is a one-time project with a fixed price. Monthly plans run month to month and end with 30 days' notice. There is nothing to get trapped in.
Who owns the website and the accounts?
You do, entirely. The domain is registered in your name, the Google listing is under your account, the payment processor is yours, and the customer list is yours to export any time. If you ever stop working with us, you keep every piece of it.
What if I already have a website?
Then Foundation costs less. We'll look at what's there — sometimes it just needs fixing rather than replacing, and we'll tell you that honestly even though it means a smaller invoice.
Are there costs beyond what you charge?
A few small ones, and they go straight to the provider, never through us. A domain runs about $12 a year. Business email is roughly $6 a month per address. Website hosting for a site like yours is usually free. We'll list every one before you commit.
I'm not good with computers. Is that a problem?
It's the reason we exist. You never have to touch any of it — but if you want to learn a piece of it, we'll sit with you and teach it at whatever pace suits you. That's the $150/hour training, and plenty of clients never need it.
How far do you travel?
Wilton, Ridgefield, Norwalk, New Canaan, Westport, Darien, Stamford, and Fairfield. If you're just outside that, call us anyway — we'll usually say yes.
Can you do e-commerce?
Yes, quoted separately. Selling online is a real project with real ongoing work, and pretending it fits in a flat fee would set you up to be disappointed. We'll scope it properly.
Next step
Start with the free visit.
An hour at your shop, an honest read on what you've got, and a fixed price if you want one.
